Designed for developing more advanced and complex techniques, the Advanced Performance Package includes 3 days of practical instruction on fundamental and intermediate/advanced level clinical skills essential to efficient pre-assessments, diagnostic testing and quality patient care.
Training topics may include:
Visual acuity assessment
Intraocular pressure (IOP) assessment utilizing Tonopen or similar handheld tonometry devices
Review of Goldman Applanation Tonometry for more advanced technicians
Proper collection of chief complaint and history of present illness (HPI)
Review of refractive techniques
Reading and understanding eyeglass prescriptions
Operation and practical use of automated lensometers, refractors and keratometers
Review of manual lensometry
Review of manual keratometry
Advanced review of ocular anatomy and physiology fundamentals catered to clinic specialty
Pupil assessment and review of afferent pupillary defects
Assessment of ocular motility and documentation of basic eye misalignment
Advanced slit lamp operation
Anterior segment photography fundamentals
In addition to more advanced training topics, the Advanced Performance Package includes access to the Core Diagnostic Fundamentals covering various diagnostic devices such as:
Visual Field Analyzers
Optical Coherence Tomography
Fundus Photography
Retinal Angiography
Biometry and IOL Calculation
Corneal Topography/Tomography
Anterior segment imaging
Each session emphasizes real-world clinical workflow, patient interaction, accuracy, and efficiency to help technicians build confidence and improve day-to-day performance within the practice environment.
Training content can be customized to align with the specific needs, equipment, and workflow of each practice.
Content is broken down into a morning and afternoon session accommodating up to 4 individual technicians per session.
